TITANS Finds Its Robin/Nightwing In Brenton Thwaites Of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

The sequel, that is. No, like, the fourth sequel.

The media cycle spins forward rapidly these days, so you may or may not remember that the fifth Pirates movie Dead Men Tell No Tales (or Salazar's Revenge, depending on where you live) already came and went. Brenton Thwaites played Henry Turner, the son of Orlando Bloom's submerged sea captain, and he's all set to take on the role of another swashbuckler in DC's upcoming Titans.

Per THR, the young Aussie will assume the role of Dick Grayson in the series from The Flash, Supergirl and Hot Archie Who Fucks executive producer Greg Berlanti, all set to hit DC's brand new streaming platform in 2018. Grayson is the first and most famous Robin, and the only one to make it to live action thus far, though it's unclear if Thwaites will don the red & yellow Batman-sidekick mantle or adopt Grayson's solo superhero persona, Nightwing. (only Variety mentions the latter, but I guess we'll have to wait and see).

Maybe we'll see some kind of hybrid like we did in Batman & Robin. Or maybe we'll watch him move from one identity to the next and get the best of both worlds in this probably Batman-free Batman universe when it arrives next year. We'll keep you posted.
