TRYING TIMES Podcast Episode Seven: Scott And Shultz Conquer Their Fears

COLOSSAL director Nacho Vigalondo joins Scott and Shultz for their scariest challenge yet.

This month, Shultz and I took on what may have been our most unpleasant challenge yet: we each set out to conquer one of our fears. For Shultz, that meant confronting the possiblity of the supernatural via a very old, very spooky-looking Ouija board. For me, that meant allowing giant-ass spiders to crawl all over my ass (that's me holding pure horror in the image at the top of this post).

It sucked.

But, hey, this show's not supposed to be a walk in the park. And besides, this month we're joined by the great Nacho Vigalondo, director of Colossal, Timecrimes and - one of my personal favorites - 2011's Extraterrestrial. Nacho had his own phobia he wanted to discuss, and it was...well, it was definitely not what we were expecting.

Next month, we've opted to make things a little easier on ourselves: for one glorious October day, Shultz and I will become real live pirates, and immerse ourselves in true pirate culture. This one carries a high probability of one or the both of us ending up incarcerated, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for that episode as soon as we get it posted online.

As always, you can follow our ongoing shenanigans on Twitter (we frequently brainstorm and post photos from our challenges in real time). Shultz can be found at @dingzip, while I can be followed at @ScottWamplerBMD. If listening to our show via SoundCloud/BMD ain't your thing, be aware that you can subscribe to us via iTunes or Stitcher, and if you've got suggestions for future challenges, we'd love to hear from you, either in the comments below or via Twitter.

Also, be sure to sweep your bathrooms for spiders before removing any clothing. It's dangerous out there.
