Seth Rogen & Eric Kripke Get THE BOYS Set Up At Amazon

Though reviews have been mixed on Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's AMC series adaptation of Preacher (check out Andrew's words on the matter here), it's undeniable that the creative team have a deep affection for Garth Ennis' offbeat characters and writing. They wanna be in the Ennis business, and are doubling their efforts to bring his work to life. 

Now, Amazon's greenlighted the superhero drama The Boys with an eight-episode order. Based on the comic book by Ennis and Darick Robertson, the show was masterminded by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke and will be directed by the Preacher duo of Goldberg and Rogen. Sony Pictures TV Studios will co-produce with Amazon, along with Neal H. Moritz’s studio-based Original Films.

Just as outlandish and R-rated as Ennis' other books, The Boys exists in a universe where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity, and a group of vigilantes known informally as “the boys,” set out to take down corrupt cape-wearers with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty. 

No word on casting as of yet, but the series is said to be eyeing a Spring 2018 start date, and a 2019 release. So, what do you think? Are you guys still on board with Rogen and Goldberg adapting more Ennis after Preacher? Or should they leave well enough alone?
