New Trailer For THE GREATEST SHOWMAN Might Be For No Man

Or woman. Or animals. Or the planet.

Early buzz surrounding The Greatest Showman has been...bad. There's really no other way to put it. With the first trailer, Fox tried to hide that the movie was a musical. Now, they're just leaning into that aspect of the picture with reckless abandon, giving us the all-singing, all-dancing take on exploitation, and it looks...not good.

Take a look:

Apparently a Dickensian play on the life of P.T. Barnum (Hugh Jackman), The Greatest Showman is an original musical that celebrates the life of a man who first taught us that there's "no business like show business", and then put a bunch of marginalized individuals on stage for folks to gawk at. There were also elephants, I think. The film marks the directorial debut of SFX man Michael Gracey, who may turn out to be the Pitof of musicals when all is said and done.

Featuring songs by Academy Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land), this will at least sound pretty good when it hits theaters December 20th.
