Full Trailer For Ava DuVernay’s A WRINKLE IN TIME Is Big, Colorful & Goofy AF

All of this is praise, mind you.

Disney just dropped the first full-length trailer for Ava DuVernay's A Wrinkle In Time adaptation, and its safe to say that no other big studio movie on next year's docket is going to look quite like this

Take a look:

Holy shit, that looks weird in the best way possible.

Based on Madeleine L’Engle's beloved book of the same name, A Wrinkle In Time follows a young girl (Storm Reid) who goes in search of her father via interdimensional travel. DuVernay directs from a script by Frozen co-writer/co-director Jennifer Lee, and her movie co-stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, and Chris Pine (not to mention Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, Zach Galifianakis, and Levi Miller).

Yet the main selling point here is watching DuVernay go buck wild with a budget - flexing some SFX muscles and really just creating a fantastical world of her own. Will this be any good? That remains to be seen, but we're certainly rooting for something this splendidly colorful, that's for sure.

A Wrinkle in Time opens in theaters on March 9, 2018.
