Trailer For Ridley Scott’s THE TERROR Promises A Most Unpleasant Voyage

Bring a jacket to AMC's latest.

AMC just rolled out the first trailer for Ridley Scott's The Terror, a based-on-a-true-story thriller/drama centered around the Royal Navy's first attempts to discover the Northwest Passage. It looks...extremely cold and foreboding.

Check it out.

The folks over at Coming Soon have an official plot synopsis, along with some photos. First up: the synopsis:

"Inspired by a true story, The Terror centers on the Royal Navy’s perilous voyage into unchartered territory as the crew attempts to discover the Northwest Passage. Faced with treacherous conditions, limited resources, dwindling hope and fear of the unknown, the crew is pushed to the brink of extinction. Frozen, isolated and stuck at the end of the earth, The Terror highlights all that can go wrong when a group of men, desperate to survive, struggle not only with the elements, but with each other."

And now, the photos (Steppenwolf alert!):

Just so we're all very clear here: Ridley Scott's executive producing this series alongside David Kajganich and Soo Hugh; he won't be directing (this is understandable, given that Ridley Scott has roughly 400 bajillion irons in the fire right now). That doesn't make us any less interested, though: this cast - which includes Ciaran Hinds and Jared Harris - is strong and the subject matter strikes us as delightfully bleak. The tale of the HMS Terror is a good one, and it appears AMC has spared no expense in bringing it to the small screen. We're into all of this.

So, when do we get to see it? The two-hour premiere airs on AMC on March 26th. Plan accordingly.
