The CHAPPAQUIDDICK Trailer Proves Even Ted Kennedy Had Bad Days

Well, besides those other two.

I missed Chappaquiddick when it played the Austin Film Festival because of scheduling conflicts, and now - having seen the teaser trailer for the movie - I'm totally bummed that I did.

Based on the true story of the "Chappaquiddick Incident" - where Ted Kennedy (Jason Clarke) was in a car accident with Mary Jo Kopechne (Kate Mara), and the ensuing cover-up that created more questions than answers - director John Curran's film presents Kennedy as a man who's wrestling with his desire to tell the truth, while also wanting to continue his family's political ambitions.

Take a look:

Well, that looks rather promising (not to mention relevant to our current issues of men dealing with their destructive, shitty behavior). Even more intriguing is the cast of comedic actors (such as Ed Helms and Jim Gaffigan) showing up in supporting roles.

Reviews out of TIFF were fairly positive, so count us as curious when Chappaquiddick hits theaters April 6, 2018.
