This Mash-Up Video Edits DUNKIRK & DARKEST HOUR Into One Harrowing Ordeal

A fan trailer for a movie we'd totally watch.

Sometimes the stars align when watching a bunch of movies in a year, and two films just somehow appear and perfectly compliment one another. Such is the case with Academy Award hopefuls Dunkirk and Darkest Hour, both of which dive into the organization and execution of Operation Dynamo during World War II.

While this writer has already gone into how Joe Wright's Winston Churchill biopic complimented his own dynamic recreation of Dynamo in Atonement, this fan video - which mashes together the trailers for Darkest Hour and Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk - creates a visual montage that envisions how the two would look as a combined picture.

Take a look:

That's a pretty impressive little piece of editing, right down to matching the cinematography from both films up. Nolan's widescreen grandeur and Wright's claustrophobic chamber piece amalgamate to give you two unique perspectives on the same event in one fictional film.

Dunkirk is currently out on 4K/Blu-ray/DVD and Darkest Hour is in theaters. Both are totally worth separate viewings.
