Red-Band Trailer For HEATHERS Is Practically Begging You To Be Angry About It

This should go over well.

The first red-band trailer for Paramount Network's Heathers TV series just arrived, and ... well, you gotta give credit where credit's due: they certainly seem to be going for it. So much so, in fact, that one can't help but wonder if this trailer weren't engineered for maximum social media outrage.

Take a look.

Look, I'm just gonna shoot y'all straight on this: I honestly don't know how people are gonna react to that trailer. The line between what will or won't provoke the crowd feels ill-defined, generally predictable but also fluid and ever-changing (though I suppose that tends to be the case when progress, even progress as slow as the progress we're seeing in America right now, is being made).

It certainly feels like it'll upset people, and (as I mentioned before) the in-your-faceness of it all leads me to suspect that this was intentional. Even if you're not offended by any of the jokes, that part feels gross, right? Particularly, like, right now? And yet, God help me, I admit I'm curious to see more.

I guess in that sense, the trailer's a success. Congrats?

Heathers hits the Paramount Network on March 7th. Where are you folks at with this thing?
