WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS TV Reboot Lands A Cast
The latest addition to the rapidly expanding What We Do In The Shadows Shared Universe just got a little more concrete, according to Variety, with a final cast and a pilot commitment from FX.
Starring in the half-hour series: Matt Berry, of Toast of London and The IT Crowd (!); Four Lions' Kayvan Novak (!!); English writer/actress Natasia Demetriou; and The Thundermans' Harvey Guillen. The show will be set in the United States, despite the three-quarters British main cast; creators Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi will executive-produce; and if anyone was worried about quality control, Clement will write the pilot and Waititi will direct it.
In addition to the American TV show, there's a sequel movie in the works, We're Wolves, based on Rhys Darby's squad of werewolves; and a Kiwi spinoff show about police officers Karen and Mike, entitled Wellington Paranormal.
Looks like that Thor: Ragnarok box office clout is paying off for my fellow countryman Taika. We're wildly excited about all of this, of course; the original film is a stone-cold comedy classic. If you haven't seen it, what the hell are you even doing with your life?
