Grandma Laurie Introduces Us To Three Generations Of Strode Women

Filming wraps this week on David Gordon Green and Danny McBride's Halloween, at least for Jamie Lee Curtis. That's right, the OG Final Girl now has another notch under her belt in terms of slasher movie output via a trip back to Haddonfield. To commemorate the occasion, the horror icon tweeted this Christmas Card-ready portrait of Laurie Strode (Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer), and grandaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak): 

First, it's great to see all three Strode girls in one place. Second, I wonder if Jamie Lee Curtis has more than one look for the movie (or was maybe not wearing her wig for the family photo), as she'd also tweeted this photo out not too long ago: 

There's something interesting about Laurie's self-portrait here, and may indicate where Green and McBride are taking her character. The scared babysitter who was attacked on that fateful Halloween night forty years ago is now a strong, defiant face for living with trauma. That's sort of the opposite of how H20 envisioned Laurie Strode: a haunted figure, always on the run and hiding from her past. Maybe this new Halloween is all about a woman standing up in the wake of violence and remaining in the town she's always called home? That'd be a relatively novel, fascinating (not to mention politically relevant) road for these new creators to take. 

It's also good to note that this Halloween doesn't have a title as of yet (and is still listed on IMDb as simply Halloween). Will it be the third film to carry the iconic one-word moniker? Or will they hang a subtitle of some sort on it?
