Apple Just Picked Up M. Night Shyamalan’s Next TV Series

In which Apple's original programming bench gets even more impressive.

Slowly but surely, Apple has spent the past year assembling a seriously impressive roster of talent, snapping up interesting projects from talented creators that will eventually make their debut on Apple's forthcoming streaming service. They snagged an original comedy series headlined by Kristin Wiig, a new drama from La La Land's Damien Chazelle, Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories reboot, a new "space drama" from Battlestar Galactica's Ron Moore, and much more.

Apple's not screwing around, in other words, and today they're deepening that roster yet again with a brand-new psychological thriller series from M. Night Shyamalan and Tony Basgallop (24). As of this writing, nothing's known about the series - a title, a plot, who may star, what Shyamalan's inevitable cameo will entail - but we do know that Apple felt confident enough to give the show a straight-to-series order of 10 half-hour episodes.

This won't be Shyamalan's first foray into television: the Split director previously executive produced Fox's Wayward Pines, and was once famously attached to a Tales From The Crypt reboot that never quite got off the ground. His next project is Glass, a sequel to both Split and Unbreakable. We're frothing at the mouth to learn more about that one.

Stay tuned for more on all of the above as further updates become available.
