Tom Hardy Says Venom Will Definitely Wear A Costume In VENOM (We Think)

In which Tom Hardy does one of his funny voices on Instagram to shoot down an "asinine" rumor.

In case you missed it, Tom Hardy likes to do "funny voices" when he acts. I mean, The Dark Knight Rises' Bane is the most obvious example, but even weird indie gangster movies like The Drop see the tough guy actor spitting dialogue like he's got a full box of Stove Top stuffing in his mouth. Sure, it's the whole Brando thing he's totally into, but sometimes you just want to hear conversations between characters who don't sound like they just had invasive dental surgery, ya know what I'm sayin'?

Well, it seems like Hardy has now taken his mush-mouthed style to the online world, as he jumped onto Instagram to shoot down the recent rumors that Eddie Brock doesn't wear his symbiote suit in the upcoming Venom stand-alone film.

Last week, Jeremy Conrad — a former editor at IGN — wrote about these rumors on his site Manabyte in an article that has since been deleted. However, the Internet is written in ink, and an archive search reveals this bit from the rumored plot breakdown:

"The majority of the movie sees the symbiote manifest itself via veins on Brock’s arms, tendrils, additional arms, and a shield during a car chase.”

If true, this would validate fans' fears that we won’t see much of the actual Venom in the Venom movie (concerns that began when the first trailer was released in February, and contained only flashes of the symbiote).

However, Tom "Marbles" Hardy is not having any of it, and responded in kind:

It took this author three different reads (in various Hardy "voices") to figure out what the fuck he's saying, but basically it boils down to (***EXTREME BANE VOICE***"you're wrong, my man. Venom will wear his birthday suit. Check my stats and bring me a beer." Tom Hardy's dog could not be reached for comment.

Guess we'll all find out how much Venom is actually in Venom when the movie hits theaters October 5th, 2018.
