Sounds Like Jason Clarke’s Gonna Headline The PET SEMATARY Remake

This is a great choice.

According to THR, Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch's forthcoming Pet Sematary remake may have found its lead: Zero Dark Thirty and Dawn of The Planet of The Apes star Jason Clarke. That, my friends, is an excellent bit of casting.

For those of you who've never seen Pet Sematary (shame on you) or read the Stephen King novel on which it was based (double shame on you), the plot revolves around a doctor (Clarke) and his family who move out to the country, only to discover that their new home is just a stone's throw away from the local Pet Sematary, which - wouldn't ya know it - has been assembled atop a Native American burial ground. When tragedy strikes the family, that Pet Sematary is put to very questionable use, and the results are...well, they ain't pretty.

Widmyer and Kolsch previously delivered the absolutely fantastic Starry Eyes (seek that out immediately if you've not seen it), and we can't wait to see what they do with this particular property. Here's hoping Clarke's negotiations go through; he'd be great in this role.

Stay tuned for more on Pet Sematary as it becomes available.
