Alexandre Aja and Sam Raimi Are Teaming Up For a Horror Movie About Florida

Someone was bound to do it sooner or later.

Here's a fun story: according to The Hollywood Reporter, Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Horns) and Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Drag Me To Hell) are teaming up for Crawl, a new horror project from Paramount. Aja will direct the film while Raimi produces.

So, what's Crawl about? The horrors of Florida. Says THR:

"Crawl centers on a young woman who, while struggling to save her father during a Category 5 hurricane, finds herself trapped inside a flooding house and fighting for her life against Florida's most savage and feared predators."

One could interpret "Florida's most savage and feared predators" a number of different ways. They're probably talking about gators, maybe even some sharks, but Crawl could also conceivably feature spiders, snakes, wild boars, fire ants, unhinged retirees, no-nonsense Epcot Center employees, meth addicts, or - if it takes place anywhere near Mar-a-Lago - Trump voters. But probably it's just gators and sharks (kicks rocks).

Pre-production is already underway on Crawl, so this one'll likely be along sooner rather than later. Stay tuned for more as it becomes available. In the meantime, what's your favorite gator-based horror movie? Fill us in via the comments section below.
