Here’s Your SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Spoiler Discussion Thread

Use it wisely.

WARNING: If it wasn't already clear from the headline, this post contains Solo: A Star Wars Story spoilers.

Maybe you hadn't heard, but there's a new Star Wars movie in theaters this weekend.

No, really! Ron Howard's Solo: A Star Wars Story is now available for everyone to ingest, and so far it's received...well, let's call it a mixed response. On the one hand, Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian is about as great as we expected, Woody Harrelson's Beckett is a non-stop delight, Paul Bettany's Dryden Vos is a pretty smooth villain, and Pheobe Waller-Bridge's L3-37 is one of the more interesting droids we've ever seen in a Star Wars movie.

On the other hand, L3 meets a most disturbing fate, and the entire film smacked a bit too much of early '90s fan fiction for our liking. Solo: A Star Wars Story isn't a bad movie, per se, but it's certainly not great, and the issues we have with it aren't slight, either.

There's a lot to dissect here, in other words, and we wanted to give you - the gentle BMD readers of the world - a post specifically designed for discussion Solo: A Star Wars Story spoilers. Did you enjoy the film? Were you disappointed? How would you feel about a sequel? What'd you think of Alden Ehrenreich's performance as Han Solo? Isn't it a shame that Thandie Newton's in this movie for maybe 15 minutes? Please answer all of these questions - and questions we didn't even ask! - in the comments below.

Oh, and also: have a great Memorial Day Weekend. We'll see you folks again on Tuesday.
