Peter Jackson Will Not Be Involved With Amazon’s LORD OF THE RINGS Series

There's been some speculation as to whether or not original Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies director Peter Jackson would have any input in Amazon's upcoming $1 billion five season minimum series adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's seminal fantasy works, but it looks like it's finally time to put any speculation regarding his involvement to bed. 

While speaking with Allocine, Jackson said: 

“I’m not involved at all in the Lord of the Rings series. I understand how my name could come up, but there is nothing happening with me on this project.”

Not content to simply squash one rumor, Jackson also took himself out of the running for anything DCEU related (as was the rumor going around a few months back):  

“That’s not true. I had no discussions about that. I’m not a fan of comics, I’ve never read any, so I’m not particularly interested in adapting one for cinema. That’s not true at all.”

But don't worry, Jackson promises he's plenty busy and, after the epic Mortal Engines trailer that dropped yesterday, it's difficult to doubt him: 

 “I’m not involved in any DC film or Lord of The Rings series but I’m ok with it, I have plenty other projects that keep me busy!”

So, there you have it: Peter Jackson is gainfully employed, but not with Amazon or WB/DC. What do you guys think about this? Bummed he won't be doing either? Or are you excited that there will be a new voice bringing LOTR to Amazon's audience? Sound off in the comments below.
