You’re Not Ready For The First HALLOWEEN Trailer
The internet has been clamoring for the first Halloween trailer for a very long time, so it'd probably be prudent for me to stand back, shut my lips, and let this thing work its magic on you. We'll reconvene after you've watched it.
Here we go...
So, this is the same trailer we were shown at CinemaCon back in April. I am very pleased to be watching it again! From the looks of this footage, Danny McBride and David Gordon Green have made a straight-up, no bullshit, super-intense Halloween movie, one which will (as has long been the rumor) willfully disregard the franchise mythology after the 1978 John Carpenter original.
Here's an official plot synopsis:
"Laurie Strode prepares for a final showdown with masked killer Michael Myers."
Alright, so that doesn't tell us much, but while we're on the subject: Jamie Lee Curtis looks absolutely on fire here, locked and loaded and ready to take down the newly-escaped Michael Myers once and for all. The kills look both vicious (those bloody teeth!) and plentiful, as the good lord intended, and some of the cinematography here is just straight-up gorgeous (see also: that shot in the mental hospital courtyard).
We like this trailer a lot - stay tuned for a frame-by-frame trailer dissection, headed your way from Jacob in just a bit - but how about you folks? You as hyped about this one as we are? Sound off in the comments below, and stay tuned for much, much more as we approach Halloween's arrival in theaters on October 19th.
