Attention Timothée Chalamet Fans: The BEAUTIFUL BOY Trailer is Here

This looks excellent. And heartbreaking.

For the past few days, Timothée Chalamet Stan Twitter has been in an absolute tizzy over the very first trailer drop for Felix Van Groeningen's Beautiful Boy, and why wouldn't they be? Chalamet's one of the most compelling and talented young actors working today, the source material (a best-selling memoir of the same name by David Sheff) is, by all accounts, outstanding, and the film finds Chalamet squaring off against Steve Carell in a (somewhat-)rare dramatic role. The pedigree on this one is impressive.

Chalamet's fanbase will be very pleased to discover, then, that Beautiful Boy looks excellent.

There's no getting around the fact that Beautiful Boy's gonna be a rough sit. This is dark, troubling material - if you have experience with addiction issues or a family member who's dealt with addiction issues, this stuff can be exceedingly difficult to watch - but it's also important material. There's still quite a stigma surrounding addiction, and stuff like this can only help spread the message at the heart of the issue: people wrestling with drug and alcohol dependency are still people, and getting them back on track requires a whole lot of love, patience and support.

Anyway, in case any of the above wasn't clear, here's an official plot synopsis:

"Based on the best-selling pair of memoirs from father and son David and Nic Sheff, Beautiful Boy chronicles the heartbreaking and inspiring experience of survival, relapse, and recovery in a family coping with addiction over many years."

Aaand here's the first poster:

Beautiful Boy hits theaters on October 12th. You into it or nah? Sound off below.
