There's no real secret regarding who Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt's characters are modeled after in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. A former TV Western actor trying to make it big in the movies living with his best friend and stunt double in the late '60s? That's Burt Reynolds and Hal Needham, y'all. We all know QT's a fan.
Well, in case there was any doubt regarding the inspiration at the center of Tarantino's "Manson Movie", this first photo of the duo - Rick Dalton (DiCaprio) and Cliff Booth (Pitt), all dolled up in their Summer of '69 garb - should leave no doubt. Pitt especially has the square chin and Aviator sunglasses that were Needham's trademarks.
