Everyone Out of The Water: Mondo’s Releasing The Ultimate JAWS Poster Tomorrow

These are going to sell very, very quickly.

Disclosure: Birth.Movies.Death. and Mondo are owned by the Alamo Drafthouse.

Tomorrow (that'd be July 3rd), our friends at Mondo are releasing what may well be the greatest Jaws poster of all time: a screenprinted version of the classic Jaws one-sheet, featuring Roger Kastel's iconic artwork. Here, I'll let them tell you how they did it:

"Originally painted by the great Roger Kastel, the artwork is immediately arresting and visceral. A huge great white lunging toward the surface at an unknowing swimmer, giant maw ready to strike. Back in September 2016, we began the process of bringing the iconic artwork to life as a silkscreen poster. Working closely under Roger Kastel's supervision and approval, we enlisted the talents of several key artists and designers including Jason Edmiston on separations, Chris Billheimer on layout, and Bruce Yan on typography. Additionally, a huge shout out to Daniel Danger for helping to get the posters signed by Mr. Kastel. To learn a little more about the project and see an incredible time lapse of Jason's re-creation of the art, check out the article here."

What's it look like in action? There are two versions: a classic edition...

Aaand a variant edition...

Both versions of the print measure 24x36", come from an edition of 280 (translation: these are going to sell out very quickly), cost $150 and were printed by the good folks at DL screenprinting. As an added, incredibly cool bonus, every copy is signed by Roger Kastel himself. Amazing!

As mentioned above, both editions of this incredible poster will hit Mondo's website at a random time tomorrow (Tuesday, July 3rd). They'll only be there as long as they last, and then they'll be gone forever, so if you're interested in picking one of these up...well, keep your eyes trained on that Mondo homepage tomorrow, and cross all your fingers and toes.
