Austin: See THE MEG On The Water At The Rolling Roadshow’s Epic Summer Event

You’re gonna need a bigger raft for the Rolling Roadshow’s epic preview event of The Meg…on the water!

The exclusive early screening will take place at the picturesque Volente Beach Resort on Lake Travis, just outside of Austin. Attendees will be the first to enjoy the spectacle of Jason Statham vs. giant shark as the cinema gods intended: floating along in an inflatable raft with a tasty beverage in your hand. Those familiar with Jaws on the Water know colossal surprises lie in store at these Alamo Drafthouse events, including trained scuba divers lurking just beneath surface, waiting for the perfect moment to deliver a few added scares.

Should you find you’re too afraid to get back in the water, don’t panic! Plenty of liquid courage will be provided at outdoor bars located throughout the venue. Tickets will also include access to some of the fun rides and hang-out spots Volente Beach Resort has to offer.

Alamo Drafthouse’s Rolling Roadshow is teaming up with Warner Bros. Pictures for an exclusive early screening of the action thriller THE MEG, pitting man against a prehistoric 75-foot megalodon. The film stars Jason Statham and Li Bingbing and was directed by Jon Turteltaub.

Screening on the shores of Lake Travis at Volente Beach Resort, THE MEG on the Water attendees will float on inflatable rafts while being the first to see THE MEG’s giant shark action unspool. Meanwhile, Rolling Roadshow’s trained scuba divers will slink in the waters beneath to provide some added scares.

Tickets to THE MEG on the Water will also provide guests with some bonus fun at Volente Beach Resort from 6:00PM - 8:30PM, with all rides and hang-out spots open, including the Lazy Lagoon, The Sidewinder, volleyball, and a beachside bar and grill.
