Well, folks: you read the headline. You know what we're here for.
It's a new Venom trailer.
Let's check it out.
Yup, that's definitely a trailer for Ruben Fleischer's Venom!
There's a bunch of new footage threaded through here, which is nice, but the real bonus on this trailer has to be the improved visual effects: what we're seeing in this clip looks quite a bit sharper than the VFX we glimpsed in previous teasers, and that does go a ways towards sanding down some of Venom's, shall we say, rougher edges (while they're tweaking things - maybe they could clean up the suit's voice? Ya mans is out here sounding like Tom Waits gargling oatmeal).
By now you probably already know where you stand on this one, but just in case you'd like some further input, here's the official plot synopsis, which you'll note does not tell us much about the actual plot of the film:
"One of Marvel's most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom."
What do you think? Like this trailer better than anything you've seen before? Think it's about the same? Still wondering how you make a worthwhile Venom movie without Spider-Man? Have you decided that the inherent goofiness of this film is actually its biggest draw? We wanna hear all your opinions, so hit the comments below to blast us in the face with them.
Venom arrives on October 5th.
