That Adaptation of Stephen King and Joe Hill’s IN THE TALL GRASS Has a Cast Now

Patrick Wilson is about to have a Very Bad Time™.

Vincenzo Natali's In The Tall Grass is one of those projects I can't believe is actually happening.

Based on a truly horrific novella of the same name by Stephen King and Joe Hill, In The Tall Grass has the potential to be one of the most unsettling horror experiences of the next few years. That Natali is making the film for Netflix, a distributor that doesn't have to worry about securing an R-rating (thus rendering them less likely to reign in the source material's more grotesque moments), is all the more reason to be excited. If they pull this thing off, it's really gonna be something to see.

And now it has a cast: according to Deadline, Patrick Wilson, Laysla De Oliveira and Harrison Gilbertson have all signed on to star in the film. Presumably, Wilson and De Oliveira will star as the brother and sister who find themselves drawn into a seemingly-innocuous overgrown field somewhere on the back roads of Kansas. This being a King/Hill joint, you can rest assured that that field is far more dangerous than it appears. Lots of bad shit going on in there.

This'll be Netflix's third King adaptation, following last year's Gerald's Game and 1922. Both of those films knocked it out of the park, and we're hoping the streaming giant goes three-for-three with this one.

Stay tuned for more on In The Tall Grass as it becomes available, and do track down the novella before the movie arrives. It's all but guaranteed to trouble your sleep for days, which is one of the highest recommendations I can offer.
