New CAPTAIN MARVEL Photos Reveal Skrulls, Young Nick Fury And More

Also, Captain Marvel is a NIN fan. This is canon.

Our friends over at Entertainment Weekly revealed the first official shot of Brie Larson's Captain Marvel in costume this morning, and shortly thereafter they revealed a ton of new images from the film, as well. And, hoo boy, is there some exciting stuff going on in these photos.

Let's take a look.

First up: here's our first good look at Captain Marvel's Skrulls, led by the villainous Talos (Ben Mendelsohn). They're strolling in from the ocean, which makes us wonder if they crashed a ship, arrived via submarine, or were just taking a leisurely swim before getting their asses kicked by Captain Marvel.

EW's photo caption on this one contains some interesting info:

"Captain Marvel marks Samuel L. Jackson’s ninth appearance as Nick Fury, but this Nick is a lowly S.H.I.E.L.D. desk jockey (who hasn’t yet met any superheroes). He’s younger than we’ve ever seen him (Jackson was digitally de-aged for the role), and perhaps most shocking of all, he’s missing his signature eyepatch."

Huh. Desk jockey Nick Fury. Will wonders never cease.

Here's another look at Carol Danvers' Captain Marvel suit. Love it.

And here's Ronan The Accuser, who...well, who we're quite surprised to see here! According to EW, Ronan (Lee Pace) will be a "high-ranking member of Kree society" in Captain Marvel, and won't be the only Guardians of The Galaxy character to appear: we should also expect to see Djimon Hounsou's Korath.

In this photo, we are reminded that Captain Marvel takes place in the '90s. We are also learning that Carol Danvers is a Nine Inch Nails fan, a creative decision made specifically to ensure that this writer will see Captain Marvel fourteen times in theaters.

Here's a look at Captain Marvel's Starforce team, an elite group of space-faring military fighters who travel the cosmos keeping chumps in line. Chumps like, say, Ronan The Accuser and Korath. That's Ronan over there in the bottom left.

Entertainment Weekly has a few other photos in their gallery, but these were our favorites. Head on over there to see the rest, or stick around to dissect all of the above at length in the comments section below. We're curious what you folks think about all this.

Captain Marvel arrives in theaters on March 8th, 2019.
