The Shape Returns: Listen To A Full Track From John Carpenter’s New HALLOWEEN Score

Those synths tho.

Fantastic Fest is tomorrow! I repeat: Fantastic Fest is tomorrow!

Containing our excitement at this point is a futile fucking endeavor, as in a little over 24 hours, the greatest genre Fest on the planet is kicking off, melting faces, and reminding the world of its dominant place in the cinephile food chain.

Opening FF is David Gordon Green and Danny McBride's Halloween, and this writer fully expects the movie to blow the roof off the damn joint (especially after it played like gangbusters in TIFF's Midnight Madness slot). As if to stoke our enthusiasm just a touch more, producer/composer/OG Horror King John Carpenter released a full track from his new score for the sequel. Titled "The Shape Returns", it's a revamped mix on the classic theme, with some new wave electro shock ambiance tossed in for good measure.

Check it out:

Not content to simply give you one review of Halloween following its screening tomorrow, BMD is going to sport two takes for you to digest (from both myself and bearded sex god Russ Fischer). At this point, we're pretty much counting the minutes until Green and McBride's movie is gleefully stabbing us in the face.

For the rest of youse, Halloween hits theaters October 19th, ready to deliver one (more) good scare this Samain Season.
