Clint Eastwood Is Back In First Trailer For THE MULE

It’s, uh, not a comedy.

Love him or hate him, Clint Eastwood sure likes to make movies. His The 15:17 to Paris came out earlier this year, and this December he’s hitting us with The Mule, which marks his first acting role since 2012’s Trouble with the Curve.

Today brings us the first trailer for The Mule. It is, in a word, dour. Check it out below:

I have to admit, I’m very curious about this one. The trailer paints the edges of the story (Clint is a bad family man who runs drugs, works with dangerous people, and also has cop problems) without ever getting too specific.

It also shows off an impressive cast. Sure there’s Clint Eastwood, but you also have the great Dianne Wiest, Bradley Cooper, Michael Peña and Laurence Fishburne. Even if Clint Eastwood movies aren’t your bag, that’s an intriguing ensemble.

Also intriguing: is Clint going to kill him some cartel folks or what? The threat of violence is all over this trailer, despite it starring an 88-year-old man. That alone makes me curious enough to check it out.

The Mule comes out December 14.
