STAR WARS: Say Bye-Bye To Boba, His Movie Is Dead

Straight from Kathleen Kennedy.

Disney is having trouble figuring out what to do with their “in-between” Star Wars movies now that Solo has finally shown some vulnerability to the Star Wars behemoth. They have to make movies people might actually want to watch and haven’t quite figured out what that might be without the aid of naked pandering. (Yes, I am editorializing here.)

One of these proposed projects was a solo Boba Fett movie. Based on a character who looked cool, but never actually did all that much, the movie was likely going to be a tough nut to crack in terms of finding natural justification for whatever story it meant to tell.

But they don’t have to worry about that anymore. According to Dark Horizons, Kathleen Kennedy herself has confirmed that the Boba Fett movie is no longer happening, “100% dead.”

This makes a lot of sense. Jon Favreau is currently hard at work on a whole television show, The Mandalorian, based around, not Boba Fett himself, but certainly his aesthetic and probably his most likely subgenre as well. Axing Fett’s movie seems more an act of eliminating redundancy than anything.

But what will the next Star Wars Story be? We’ve heard about a possible Obi-Wan movie, but my hope is something more original and surprising set in this universe. What do you all think about this development? Let us know in the comments!
