Here’s Our First Look At FX’s WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS TV Series

Unsurprisingly, it looks very funny.

It's been over three years since Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement's What We Do In The Shadows came along, and today we're standing at the dawn of a new vampiric age, one which will soon have us watching a What We Do In The Shadows TV series (via FX), a What We Do In The Shadows spin-off called Wellington Paranormal (on its way to a second season in New Zealand) and a What We Do In The Shadows sequel called We're Wolves (focusing on, you guessed it, the original film's gang of Wolfmen).

We're still waiting on Wellington Paranormal to make its way over here to the States and We're Wolves still appears to be a ways off, but in the meantime we've got that FX series to look forward to. Based on this newly-arrived pair of teaser trailers, it's gonna be a helluva lot of fun.

Let's take a look.

FX's What We Do In The Shadows transports the action to not-so-sunny Staten Island, NY, where a quartet of new vampires - Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Nandor (Kayvan Novak) and "energy vampire" Colin (Mark Proksch) - are trying to make their way in the world. There are currently no plans for Clement or Waititi to appear on the show, but both remain involved as executive producers, and wrote/directed the pilot (respectively).

Both of these clips work for us. This is exactly what a What We Do In The Shadows TV series should look like. Of course will miss the original film's cast members, but everyone here seems like a perfect fit (particularly Matthew Berry, a longtime favorite here in BMD World).

As of this writing, we don't have a firm air date for FX's What We Do In The Shadows, just that it'll arrive sometime next Spring. Rest assured we'll be keeping an eye out for further updates on that front, and will keep you informed as they arrive. Stay tuned, gang.
