Don’t Open The Box On This Cool-Ass CHILD’S PLAY Poster

The movie might sound dumb, but the marketing materials are sweet?

Before I go any further, I must state that I am #TeamMancini all the way when approaching this tale of two upcoming Child's Play films. That said, Aubrey Plaza and Brian Tyree Henry are both in MGM's upcoming franchise "reboot", which makes me happy. Then again, it's written by the guy bringing us Kung Fury 2 and has this log line:

"The modern day reboot is alleged to follow a group of kids (not too far removed from the archetypes contained in IT and Stranger Things), who encounter a technologically-advanced/defective Good Guy Doll, instead of a butchering knee-high maniac, possessed by the spirit of serial killer Charles Lee Ray."

As many of commenters have noted in the past...it's basically Small Soldiers, but stabbier.

Anywho, here's a new poster for this new Child's Play and, honestly, it kinda rules. Check it out:

Alright, fine. You win. That's a sweet-ass poster. However, it has ignited the rage of BMD's Brian Collins who may have had a Dunkin Donuts-induced stroke mid-Tweet while firing off this transmission:

Brian has a point, I suppose, but please pray for him during these trying times.

Also new is the release date for Child's Play: June 21st, 2019. So, you've got plenty of time to decide which Child's Play film you're rooting for before then.

Stay tuned, Good Guys and Dolls...
