Way To Go Everyone, Now There’s Going To Be A BLADE RUNNER Anime

One day, I awoke and everything had become anime.

Netflix is making a live action Cowboy Bebop. There are also finally showing North America Neon Genesis Evangelion for the first time. It seems like a lot more anime than normal is popping up this week. And guess what! It’s only Thursday, so there’s still room for more!

This one is from Adult Swim. According to THR, we are getting a 13-episode anime called Black Lotus that will take place in the Blade Runner universe in the year 2032, which puts it between the two films we already have. Shinji Aramaki and Jenny Kamiyama will direct the episodes.

A Blade Runner anime is honestly not all that difficult to imagine as it does seem like an art form suited for sad robots who occasionally shoot guns. And don’t worry, we will apparently see some familiar Blade Runner characters in the show as well. When I say “we” I really mean “you” because I sort of doubt I’ll be watching this.

You’ll be able to check it out on Adult Swim’s Toonami anime block. And if you don’t want to do that, it will also be available to stream on Crunchyroll. And if you don't want to do that, I don't think anyone will hold it against you.
