FANGORIA’s OUR LADY OF THE INFERNO Is Getting The Big Screen Treatment

We at BMD do love us some Fangoria.  A part of that is that we've got a big ol' soft spot for some of the folks working there these days - Meredith, Phil, we love you - but they also just make some damn fine horror content. I mean, did you see that first issue of their relaunch? That thing is rad as hell!

But you may also remember that I reviewed a little book they put out called Our Lady of the Inferno, which was a pretty cool '80s slasher pastiche that I liked quite a bit. Well, author Preston Fassel is probably having a pretty good day today if a report from Deadline has anything to say about it:

Laura Moss and Brendan J. O’Brien have been commissioned to write the screenplay for the film adaptation to Our Lady Of The Inferno, the 1980s Times Square set horror book by journalist Preston Fassel. The book was released earlier this year as the first novel under Fangoria’s Fangoria Presents imprint. Moss and O’Brien will work on the script in collaboration with Fassel, who will serve as an executive producer along with Phil Nobile Jr. Dallas Sonnier (Bone Tomahawk, Brawl In Cell Block 99) and Amanda Presmyk will produce.

So our boy Phil is getting another executive producer credit under his belt, the writers of horror comedy short Fry Day are taking on a feature film project with the assistance of the writer of the original book, and you all get another slice of retro horror deliciousness from Fangoria. What's not to love?

If you haven't read the book, now's as great a time as any to pick it up - seriously, I may have had some issues with it, but it's a legit good read that will make for an excellent adaptation - and if you have read it, express your excitement down in the comments.
