Sony’s MORBIUS Movie Is Now Shooting And Jared Leto Has A Photo To Prove It

With Venom's worldwide box office domination firmly in the rear-view and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse now hitting home video, it's time for Sony to turn its attentions to that other Spider-Man spin-off they've been threatening everyone with: the Morbius movie, starring Jared Leto.

This is our first look (well, kinda) at Jared Leto in Daniel Espinosa's Morbius. It's hard to discern anything of real value from this shot - looks like Leto's got some stringy hair; looks like maybe they're filming a scene in Morbius' lab - but if for no other reason than to remind you that this movie is very much happening, we figured we oughtta share.

For those of you unfamiliar with the character, Morbius will star Jared Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius, a biochemist who accidentally gives himself vampirism while trying to cure a rare blood disease. In the comics, Morbius fought Spider-Man, but Espinosa's film will take the same Spider-Man-free approach taken by last year's Venom. We're not sure who Morbius will be doing battle with in the movie, but we do know Matt Smith's co-starring.
