Los Angeles: Win A Pair of Tickets to NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST 5

It's the 30th anniversary of Freddy trying to be a dad!

As with 1988 before it, 1989 was blessed with new entries in the big three "horror hero" franchises. While sadly not simultaneously in theaters, within a span of a few months Freddy, Jason, and Michael Myers graced our multiplexes, something that's never happened since. But while 1988's entries (The Dream Master, New Blood, and Halloween 4) performed admirably at the box office, audiences weren't racing to come back - the 1989 ones all kind of tanked. For Jason and Michael, it wasn't too big of a drop from their previous entries, but for Freddy it had to sting - Dream Master was the Elm Street series' biggest grosser yet (and would remain so until Freddy vs. Jason), but the 5th entry, subtitled The Dream Child, couldn't even make half as much.

So outside of seeing its poster in IT, there's a pretty good chance a lot of fans have never gotten to see this one on the big screen, which is why I'm happy to be bringing it back for Los Angeles horror fans this Tuesday, April 16th, to celebrate its 30th anniversary! It's the newest entry in Screamfest's ongoing Fears & Beers screening series that I am very grateful to host every month, and I always love doing franchise entries like this because the fans tend to turn up in droves, with costumes and such - it just makes it that much more fun. Adding to the excitement will be four of the film's stars: Lisa Wilcox, Kelly Jo Minter, Danny Hassel, and Joe Seely, who will be joining me for a post-movie Q&A. Plus there will be themed drinks, photo ops, and a free beer with your ticket (if you're 21+, of course), plus I wouldn't be surprised if I had some DVDs to give away for (very easy) trivia questions.

Want to come for free? Just email [email protected] and tell me your favorite Freddy one-liner from the series! Make sure you're available to come to the screening at 7:30pm on Tues the 16th, at the TCL Chinese in Hollywood - I'll be picking someone today. If you don't win or just don't want to risk missing out, tickets are still available HERE. Good luck, and hope to see you there!
