They Are Letting Ben Affleck Direct Again

And this definitely sounds like it’s in his wheelhouse.

Ben Affleck has directed four movies. Only one of them is horrible so I suppose he deserves to be cut a little slack. Argo is a Best Picture winner, after all. Whatever was up with Live by Night, maybe Affleck shouldn’t receive all the blame. Let’s let bygones be bygones.

In other words, maybe we should look forward to him directing again. According to THR, Affleck with direct and star in an upcoming film called Ghost Army. I know what you’re thinking and no, it’s not going to be quite as cool as that title implies.

Ghost Army will tell the true story of a WWII squadron who used theatrical tricks to make German forces believe troops were in position in places that were actually empty of Allied forces. So they would use smoke and whatnot to make it look like war was on the way when it actually wasn’t. It’s not quite making a fake movie to stage a rescue operation but it’s still kind of close.

Nevertheless, this is good news. The script they’re using was originally written by Shazam!’s Henry Gayden but received a rewrite from Nic Pizzalatto, which helps make the project seem more serious.

I’m sure this will get an all-star cast of character actors here pretty soon. We’ll let you know more as we hear it.
