Here’s The Killer First Trailer For Alexandre Aja’s CRAWL
It's been a while since we had a new Alexandre Aja joint on our hands (you probably remember 2013's Horns, but were you even aware of The 9th Life of Louis Drax?), but the wait is almost over: in July, Paramount will release Aja's Crawl, a truly awesome looking new thriller that can best be described as "a home invasion movie, only this time the invaders are actually big-ass alligators."
This is the first Crawl trailer, and what a fine piece of work it is. You've got your a lady (Kaya Scodelario) trapped in a house with an injured guy (Barry Pepper), rising flood waters, and a big-ass gator (more than one, apparently) doing its damnedest to wipe everyone out. A simple premise, to be sure, but it appears Aja's invested it with all the tension-building - and, we're assuming, gnarliness - we've come to expect from him over the years. There's always something pleasingly tactile aboutAja's films, and this one's no different.
Here's the first poster...
...and here's an official synopsis:
"During a hurricane, a young woman finds herself trapped beneath a flooding house, fighting for her life against a pack of savage alligators."
This one arrives on July 12th, smack dab in the middle of the summer. I will be seeing it in a luxuriously air-conditioned theater with a bucket of beer in front of me, probably giggling like a lunatic the entire time. How 'bout y'all? Feeling this one as much as we are? Think you'll just stay home and watch Jaws again? Sound off in the comments below, and stay tuned for more on Crawl.
