Chris Hemsworth And Tiffany Haddish Are Heading DOWN UNDER COVER

It's cops versus male strippers. Who ya got?

According to Deadline, Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Endgame) and Tiffany Haddish (Night School) are teaming up for a brand new buddy-cop comedy, one which will find the mismatched pair taking on "a troupe of Australian male erotic dancers". That sound you just heard was a million box office cash registers exploding at the same time.

Here's a more details plot synopsis, should you need it:

"In Down Under Cover, Hemsworth will play a detective who goes undercover to crack a series of baffling casino heists in which the prime suspects are a troupe of Australian male erotic dancers. He’s forced to take the partner no one else will — Haddish’s character, a lone wolf who does things only one way: hers. Together they have to work as an unlikely duo to solve the crime of their careers."

This project's being brought to the Cannes marketplace this year, where it's all but guaranteed to snap up a distributor. I mean, really, who's gonna pass on any comedy starring Hemsworth and Haddish, much less a comedy featuring casino heists and a rogue band of Australian male strippers? Only fools, that's who.

As of this writing, it doesn't sound as though a director's attached to Down Under Cover (the script, which Deadline's comparing to stuff like 48 Hours, The Heat and Rush Hour, was written by Peter Hoare) but we imagine that'll also be sorted out presently. Nothing further to report at this time, but we'll keep you informed as further Down Under Cover updates roll in.
