We’re Ready To Get Trapped In THE LODGE
Disclosure: Tim League, founder and CEO of Birth.Movies.Death.’s parent company Alamo Drafthouse, is a co-founder of NEON.
Here's an incomplete list of things we enjoy here at Birth.Movies.Death.: directors Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala, and their work on the truly freaky 2014 horror film Goodnight Mommy; the screen presence and notable acting skills of Riley Keough; horror movies where people get trapped out in the middle of nowhere by the elements, only to have things get even worse due to the supernatural.
From the looks of this trailer, Franz and Fiala's The Lodge covers all of those bases.
From the looks of this, Franz and Fiala have maintained that overwhelming sense of dread that made Goodnight Mommy so memorable, and are flavoring their latest with a bit of flavoring that calls to mind The Shining. This one played to a big response at this year's Sundance Film Festival, and is by all accounts quite the showcase for Keough's talents. We're hyped and looking forward to it.
Oh, by the way, here's the film's first poster:
This one doesn't have a release date yet, but rest assured we'll be keeping you informed on that front, and will let you know as soon as we have one. In the meantime: have you seen Goodnight Mommy? Eager to see more from this directing duo? Sound off in the comments below, and stay tuned.
