FALCON AND WINTER SOLDIER Series Adds A JOHN WICK Writer
Just when you thought you couldn't deal with another streaming platform, along comes Disney+ with its promises of, well, every title under the Disney umbrella and then some. The "and then some" of that equation includes some interesting Marvel spinoff series, including Falcon and Winter Soldier, which recently brought Kari Skogland (The Handmaid's Tale) in to direct. According to The Wrap, another intriguing name is joining the creative team for Marvel's spinoff: Derek Kolstad, the creator and co-writer of the John Wick franchise. That's a mighty exciting addition to Falcon and Winter Soldier, and gives us a better idea of what we might expect from the series.
Falcon and Winter Soldier is planned as a six-part limited series, with Captain America franchise stars Daniel Bruhl and Emily VanCamp expected to reprise their roles as Zemo and Agent 13, respectively, alongside Anthony Mackie's Falcon and Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier. In addition to that series, Marvel is launching a spinoff featuring Tom Hiddleston's Loki, as well as a series with Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany's Vision – all of which will be available exclusively on Disney+, which is expected to launch later this year.
