Feast Your Eyes On The Stunning Trailer For PARADISE HILLS

Alice Waddington heads to paradise in her visually stunning debut.

If you're like me, the slightest hint of a fairy tale vibe is enough to pique your interest in a movie. Add to that a story about a group of young women rising up against the oppressive systems of a patriarchal society and, well, I'm sold!

The trailer for Alice Waddington's Paradise Hills has all of this and more. Take a look:

Every frame featuring the rich and colorful aesthetic is breathtaking, reminiscent of the fantasy worlds in our childhood storybooks. In contrast, the story addresses the pressures of society on young women to become idealized versions of themselves, promising to journey beneath the surface of this seemingly perfect paradise.

Here's the official synopsis:

On an isolated island, Uma (Emma Roberts) wakes up to find herself at Paradise Hills, a facility where high-class families send their daughters to become perfect versions of themselves. The facility is run by the mysterious Duchess (Milla Jovovich) where calibrated treatments including etiquette classes, vocal lessons, beauty treatments, gymnastics and restricted diets, revolve all physical and emotional shortcomings within two months. The outspoken Uma finds solace and friendship in other Paradise Hills residents -- Chloe (Danielle McDonald), Yu (Awkwafina) and Mexican popstar Amarna (Eiza Gonzalez). Uma soon realizes that lurking behind all this beauty is a sinister secret. It's a race against the clock as Uma and her friends try to escape Paradise Hills before it consumes them all.

I gotta say, I'm especially intrigued to see Milla Jovovich in what looks to be a departure from roles she's played in the past. How about you? Hit the comments and let us know if you'll be joining us in Paradise Hills.

It hits theaters and VOD on November 1, 2019.
