SDCC 2019: The SNOWPIERCER TV Series Definitely Looks Like SNOWPIERCER

TNT appears to have spared no expense on their Bong Joon-ho adaptation.

I probably don't need to ask the BMD readership if they've already seen Bong Joon-ho's Snowpiercer, one of the best genre movies of the past decade. I also probably don't need to ask if you were aware that TNT has been working on their very own Snowpiercer TV series, starring Jennifer Connelly and the great Daveed Diggs. Y'all are a sharp crowd, and Lord knows we've kept you up to date on all the happenings regarding said adaptation.

That said, it's been some time since we heard anything about this one. TNT's Snowpiercer series has been in the works since (checks calendar) 2015, and for a while Doctor Strange's Scott Derrickson was onboard to direct the pilot. That didn't quite pan out, but work on the series continued apace, and now - some two years after we last provided an update on this show - we've finally got a trailer to gawk at.

How's it look? Pretty goddamn great, if you ask us. Take a look.

From the looks of this, TNT spared no expense bringing this one to life. Everything here looks top notch, right in line with Joon-ho's 2013 movie and with an excellent cast, to boot. We're still not entirely sure how you build an entire series around the Snowpiercer concept, but that's someone else's job. All we know is, this looks pretty sharp, and we'll definitely give it a day in court when it arrives.

When'll that be? Spring of next year, with an already-greenlit second season arriving later that year (they must be feeling pretty confident about it, huh?). What do y'all think? Into it? Not so much? When's the last time you actually watched Snowpiercer? Chris Evans is in that shit! Anyway, sound off in the comments below, and stay tuned for more on this one as further updates become available.
