Amazon Cast Someone In Their LORD OF THE RINGS Show!

It may not seem like it now, but here pretty soon we are going to be awash in news about Amazon’s huge Lord of the Rings project. In fact, I don’t think it’ll be long before we all feel really stupid for even thinking of it as a Lord of the Rings project since it takes place way before that story even happens.

Whatever they end up calling it, today they started casting it. According to Variety an actress named Markella Kavenagh is in talks for a role by the name of Tyra. I’m no Tolkien expert, so I’m not surprised by my unfamiliarity with who that could be. I’m happy to just go along for the ride on this one.

One assumes that this is just the beginning of what I’m sure will be a very long casting process. Kavenagh hasn’t been in much, televisions series mostly. It’ll be cool to see how many unknowns make it to the series and how much of the cast ends up being familiar faces.

In any event, this series is going to be huge, and because it covers an era of Tolkien history I know little about, I’m quite excited about it. Hopefully more good news about the show comes soon.
