An Extended Director’s Cut Of THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE Is On The Way
The Haunting of Hill House was not only one of the best series of 2018, it was also one of the best horror titles released last year. Mike Flanagan's limited series was a spooky and stunning exploration of familial trauma, and as we anxiously await his follow-up at Netflix, Amblin has revealed that an extended director's cut of Hill House is on the way — but you won't be able to see it on Netflix. This extended version is exclusive to the forthcoming Blu-ray release, which is currently available to pre-order on Amazon.
As of now, there are no details beyond the price ($39.99), so it's unclear exactly how extended this director's cut is — or how many more of those cleverly hidden ghosts might be found lurking in the shadows. There isn't even a runtime, so we can't compare it to the Netflix version. So just consider this your head's up, Flanagan fans (Fanagans? Sorry, it's Friday, I'm ready to go). In addition to the new director's cut of Hill House, we have a few more Flanagan joints to look forward to in the coming year, including his adaptation of Stephen King's Doctor Sleep, as well as his Hill House follow-up, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and another Netflix series project titled Midnight Mass.
