Michael Rooker Has Also Joined FAST & FURIOUS 9
While Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham were off playing in their very own (and decidedly less awesome) corner of the Fast & Furious universe, Vin Diesel was making sure his corner was good and stacked with very good co-stars like John Cena and Charlize Theron. According to Deadline, Diesel seems to have remembered he has some cool friends who do Marvel movies because Michael Rooker has joined the cast of Fast & Furious 9 in what's being described as a fairly late addition to production, which has been underway for some time. As of now, the only thing we know about Rooker's role is that he's playing a character named "Buddy." So maybe he's a friend. Or maybe it's one of those ironic names like Slim or Shorty, in which case maybe he's not a friend at all.
Rooker, who also stars in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies with Diesel (kind of), joins a cast that includes returning stars Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, that man named Ludacris (woo!), and Tyrese Gibson, with Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron reprising their roles from F8 (hopefully with cooler things to do this time around). Justin Lin is returning to direct the ninth installment of the franchise, which also stars John Cena and hits theaters on May 22, 2020.
