Andy Muschietti May Combine Both Chapters Of IT Into Some Kind Of Super IT

In a development which was probably inevitable, IT director Andy Muschietti has gone on the record saying that he'd be interested in editing together both IT Chapter One and IT Chapter Two into one, big version of IT, one that tells the entirety of Stephen King's terrifying tale without making you get up and swap Blu-rays out of your player. He'd also be open to a scenario where two director's cuts - one for each film - are allowed to exist. 

Here's what he told SFX Magazine (as quoted by Games Radar):

“The possibilities are open. There’s a version where the two movies are cut together. There’s a version where there’s a special director’s cut of number one and a special director’s cut of number two. And I’m happy to basically work on every one of them.”

Y'know what, why not? As long as Warner Bros. and Muschietti are keeping busy with new versions of IT, they're not getting any ideas about spin-offs or prequels or a million other Very Bad Ideas that could be put into play. And besides, a monster supercut comprised of both IT Chapter One and IT Chapter Two is something we've been clamoring for ever since they announced the sequel was a go. That's absolutely something we'd watch on a rainy day somewhere up the road. 

How long would something like this be? Well, IT Chapter One runs 146 minutes, while IT Chapter Two is said to run 169 minutes (nice). Assuming no substantial edits are made, that'd make IT: The Supercut somewhere in the neighborhood of 315 minutes long, or just over five hours. The mention of two director's cuts leads us to believe there may be even more footage to include, but that's pure speculation. Whatever the case may be, we're into it.
