Adam Driver Tackles Torture In THE REPORT Trailer

Probably not the feel-good movie of the year.

Scott Z. Burns’ The Report made waves this past Sundance Film Festival, and with this new trailer, it’s not hard to see why:

The Report is a dramatization of real-life senate staffer Daniel Jones’s efforts to investigate the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program (aka, the CIA’s Torture Club). As you can see above, Adam Driver plays Jones, and he’s joined by Annette Benning as Senator Dianne Feinstein and Jon Hamm as White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough. The film actually has a powerhouse cast which would be too cumbersome to list in detail, but I do believe Tim Blake Nelson, Matthew Rhys and Michael C. Hall deserve special shout outs.

The Report is also the directorial debut of Scott Z. Burns, who probably know from his screenplays. The guy who scripted modern-day classics like The Informant! and Contagion (as well as co-wrote the upcoming No Time To Die) gets plenty of favor, in my book. I’m also super interested in seeing a film take a critical eye to government torture programs for once. The first Sicario was getting lonely.

You’ll be able to The Report in theaters on November 15, and on Amazon Prime Video on November 29.
