HALLOWEEN KILLS Casts Anthony Michael Hall As Tommy Doyle
Tommy Doyle is back, baby! According to Variety, David Gordon Green's upcoming Halloween sequel just added another familiar name from franchise history, but it's a bit of a good news/bad news situation for all 8 of you Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers fans out there. The bad news is that Tommy won't be portrayed by Paul Rudd, as he was in the sixth Halloween, but Green & Co. have found a suitable replacement in Anthony Michael Hall – a fine actor who evokes just the right amount of nostalgia, if nostalgia got jacked and looked like it could make you eat your own face with one hand. Tommy first appeared in John Carpenter's original Halloween as one of the kids Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode was tasked with babysitting the night Haddonfield's masked boogeyman returned home. Tommy appeared again in The Curse of Michael Myers, teaming up with Dr. Loomis to stop Myers from killing again (let a guy have hobbies, damn).
Hall, who recently guest-starred on an episode of Riverdale, is the first new cast member announced for Halloween Kills and joins returning stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, and Andi Matichak. Green co-wrote Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends with Danny McBride, and is returning to shoot both films back-to-back. The first of the sequels hits theaters on October 16, 2020, followed by Halloween Ends on October 15, 2021.
