Taika Waititi In Talks To Join James Gunn’s THE SUICIDE SQUAD

Yes, please.

According to Deadline, Taika Waititi is currently in talks to join the cast of James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, which is gearing up to begin filming next month. There's no word on what part Waititi would be playing or how big the role might be, but come on - any amount of Taika Waititi is a blessing, and we will be lucky to have it.

By the way, if you've not been keeping up with the steady flow of casting announcements over the past few weeks, Gunn's film is working with a murderer's row of talent. You've got Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman returning to play their characters from David Ayer's Suicide Squad, plus newly-minted Suicide Squad cast members like Idris Elba (character: unclear), David Dastmalchian (as the Polka-Dot Man), Daniela Melchior (as Ratcatcher), Flula Borg (character: unknown), Steve Agee (as King Shark) and, of course, regular James Gunn  collaborator Nathan Fillion (character: unknown).

We know very little about the storyline of James Gunn's Suicide Squad, but we do know that we're big fans of the talent they've assembled for it, and we're sure as hell fans of Gunn's work in the MCU. Against all odds, the year is 2019 and we are legitimately hyped for another Suicide Squad movie. Will wonders never cease.

Stay tuned for more on The Suicide Squad as further updates become available.
