The First Trailer For Pixar’s SOUL Has Arrived

Pete Docter's latest looks like another homerun.

Pixar's Soul is the latest project from Pete Docter, the director behind Up and Inside Out, and it certainly appears to be of a piece with those films...which is to say, Soul appears to be overflowing with personality and imagination.

See if you don't agree:

As you can see, Soul tells the story of Joe Gardner (Jamie Foxx), a middle school teacher who falls into an open manhole and dies (no, seriously), an event that sets Joe off on a journey to discover what it means to have a soul. In addition to Foxx, the film also features vocal performances from Phylicia Rashad, Ahmir Questlove Thompson, Tina Fey and Daveed Diggs, original jazz compositions by Jon Batiste (that's who you're hearing in the trailer) and an all-new score from noted MVPs Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (you heard me: Reznor and Ross are scoring a Pixar movie).

As you can imagine, we're very excited about this one, and eager to learn more...and there'll be plenty of time for that: Soul won't arrive until June 19th of next year. Do stay tuned for further updates on this one as they roll in, and feel free to sound off in the comments below if you've got anything to add here.
