Daniel Radcliffe Has Guns Bolted To His Hands In The GUNS AKIMBO Trailer

This movie is one wild-ass ride.

There's no getting around the fact that Jason Lei Howden's Guns Akimbo will not be for everyone.

This is a movie, set in a sort-of bizarro - and only slightly more bloodthirsty - version of our world, wherein Daniel Radcliffe hops online, talks shit to the wrong people, gets knocked the fuck out, and wakes up with guns bolted to his hands, upon which time he is forced to play a deadly game of cat and mouse with a legendary assassin named Nix (Samara Weaving) in a televised battle royale masterminded by a violent lunatic. I reviewed this film out of Fantastic Fest last year, and at the time I compared the act of watching it to "having someone toss a bucket of cocaine and bullets right into your stupid face", and I stand by that assessment. It is a lot

Obviously, this sort of thing won't be for everyone.

It does strike me, however, as the sort of thing that'll be for the BMD crowd: gleefully violent, extremely uncouth, and powered by the same sort of propulsive, manic energy I tend to associate with the Crank franchise. It's also worth noting that Radcliffe, bless his heart, is having a goddamn ball in this thing, and that Samara Weaving (who you may recall from her stellar performance in last year's Ready or Not) turns out to be very, very good at being very, very bad. I loved watching these two bounce off one another, and will happily pay the film a return visit when it opens on (according to the IMDb) February 28th. Your mileage may vary, but I'm very eager to see this one again.

Anyhoo, stay tuned and get hyped for more on Guns Akimbo as further updates become available.
